Guj HC directs reopening of molestation case against ex-DGP

The Gujarat High Court today ordered the police to reopen a case of alleged molestation filed against former state Director General of Police O P Mathur.

Justice Sonia Gokani passed the order.

In 1996, a lady lawyer had filed a complaint against Mathur alleging that Mathur, who was the then Inspector General of Police, Intelligence, visited the complainant’s house where he brandished his service revolver and molested her.

The Gujarat High Court has issued notices to Google India and several media houses on a petition moved by a businessman seeking removal of news content based on an FIR naming him on the ground that the case against him has been quashed.
